Smashed eye
Since pickleball is played close to the net, some are getting hit in the eye with the ball.

Broken wrist
Older women in particular who have osteoporosis are more prone to break their wrists when they fall during matches.

Tennis elbow
Some pickleball players are developing inflammation of the tendons in the elbow, from repetitive wrist and arm motions.

Knee injury
A common injury involves the meniscus, which acts as a shock absorber. Twisting can lead to tears in the meniscus.

Calf muscle
Strains are common, often from overuse or from not being very active prior to picking up pickleball.

Sprained ankle
Sudden turning or pivoting motions lead to many injuries among pickleball players.
